Building Family Partnerships

Engaging_Empowering1-205x300For this week’s FREE tool we’ve got something for the bulletin board in your office. It’s a Family Partnership Model to remind you of ways you can include families in the transition planning process. From developing a shared vision all the way to reflecting on and celebrating achievements, families can provide a wealth of resources and supports for teachers and students. The model comes from the CEC book, “Engaging and Empowering Families in Secondary Transition,” a collection of essays designed to help you make families into powerful allies who can support your transition plans as collaborators, instructors, evaluators, and even as peer mentors.
