Constructing a Monthly Budget

LCE_4C_logoThis week at CEC, we’ve been thinking a lot about financial literacy, especially after reading in this article about how states can do more to educate children about personal finance. So this week’s FREE Tool of the Week is a lesson plan for teaching students how to create a monthly personal budget. It includes classroom notes and student activities for school and home. The lesson comes from CEC’s Life-Centered Education transition curriculum, which includes over 1,000 lesson plans for teaching daily living, self-determination, and employment skills. Financial literacy is important to all students, but especially to students with disabilities as they prepare for independent life after school. That’s why we’ve provided this tool in a way that fits your budget—it’s free!
